Adventure, Rich: occupying more space ?
-
You will almost indubitably groan at this request …
But as the header covers the whole width of my screen, I do wonder if it were not possible to code for the content to be made wider ?
Doesn’t matter about the sidebar: that would simply move slightly to the right to balance up with a wider content …
OTY, my friend …

F*** a duck ! – is that perfect or what ?!
Yer a genius.
Well, maybe not a real genius; but certainly enough of one for ME !
Thanks so much, Rich ! – makes me really happy. :-) -
I did it again, didn’t I ?
I don’t expect input other than from Rich, and so I don’t look at the gravatar.
Thank you, Luke. -
No problem, happy to help. I’m waiting for the day one of the other volunteers answers one of your questions before Richard or I and you confuse them even more!

@margaretrosestringer
There are currently several Volunteers who are aiming to become WordPress.com Staff members and they demonstrate their skills here by answering support forum questions. -

hallluke is well known to us here and is volunteering to update his skills. He returned a month ago ie. 3 days after lizthefair and I had our shared birthday:
@timethief just passing through in order to get my CSS chops up to speed again! https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/adjusting-width-of-container?replies=8#post-2011521

And Luke stood in VERY WELL for Rich when the big conference was on, the other week. I was impressed.
-
Yes, indeed Luke is not at all new to us and CSS is his thing. He has been here for 5 years but has been scarce the last 2 years.
-
I shall, however, continue to address my requests to Rich – who has been supporting me as long as I’ve been blogging.
One builds up dependencies and friendships, and that’s it. -
-
Sheri has been MOST helpful in the past – but then, with two only exceptions, so has everyone who has ever provided input to me on a question I’ve asked in any forum, Titi. (They should both be chucked out for their rudeness, imo.)
And there have been a fair few, over this almost a year !
But when it comes to CSS, the sacred path draws the short straw. Poor sad bastard. :-) -
I don’t ever post a thread addressed to any Staff member because we own threads and we cannot dictate who answers our questions when posted here. Moreover, we don’t know whether or not this Staff member or that Staff member is even available.
When one has an upgrade and rather than getting private support they choose to post to the peer support forums is that all the Volunteers and Staff get a change to strut their stuff, collaborate and hone their skills. They get to learn new things from each other and if we get private support instead, then those opportunities are lost.

Titi, until you came here with all this information, my life was happy and uncomplicated.
Now you start telling what I may and may not do. You have a distinct tendency in this direction – did you realise ?
Go away, and let me go back to doing things the way I have always done, without injury to anyone, willya ? :-)
-
OMG! I see more errors. Here we go again.

I am not telling you anything. You did not read what I said carefully because even with the typos I made it clear that I used the first person singular and shared what I do and what I think.

Yeah sure I’ll gladly do that. LOL :D
