  If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.   Thanks for the help. Is it possible for me too add things myself to the side? The sides are empty now.

  You aren’t allowed to add ads to your sidebar, but you can add other content by using widgets. Here’s an overview of how those work
