Advertisements

I don’t remember agreeing to advertising. Now they’ve appeared and they’re either excitingly surreal, or inappropriate (very much the latter). How do I disable advertising on my blog, please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To disable advertising, you’ll need to upgrade to either of paid plans.

Would you link to the rule that if you don’t pay, you have to accept advertising? Thanks.

Sorry about the tetchy response. I appreciate you taking time to reply, alpheblog. I’ll pay to disable advertising as it’s difficult to match advertising to my blog.

Wordpress isn’t a charity organization, and if you’re on a free plan, you use storage space they need to maintain. Hence the advertising on free plans, it’s there to cover the costs.

I’m sure you’ll find something about it in the ToS, but I’ve no idea where exactly.

I do however know that when you check out paid plans, you’ll notice that they come with the ability to remove ads from your blog. :)

I understand. As a graphic designer and now as a writer, both content and communication of that content have to deal with the same assumption that content and the means of disseminating content are free, it’s not a physical product, so why should I pay.

Thank you for the reminder. Yes, I’m going to pay.
