  Hi, I wanted to know how to add banners ect…
  I was going to inset a slide show of dresses from amazon.com on my page and the html code does not even work..so i went smaller an got a framed dresses from amazon for sale to add and it does not work either. So if I want to use these links for my site how do I insert them? The HTML codes do not work!
  If you see my page link above WEBSITE STORES, is where i want to put my adds and links etc…to this page. Do I need more space or upgrades to add slide shows and banner? If so can you provide me download links to get this on my website if so.

  Advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.

  I checked out that link…ya …..it wasnt quite that kinda advertising….I hate those become rich ads in 30 days. I was more looking at womens clothing…but hay thats okay. Again thank you!!!

  Unless what you are advertising is made with your OWN hands – created by you – you cannot advertise it. You can sell art or pottery or crafts that you made with your own hands via an etsy shop and link to that shop from your sidebar.

  Advertising stuff that you did not create will get your blog deleted. Links to or selling stuff that you did not create from your blog will get your blog deleted.

  WordPress.COM is for blogging, not for e-commerce.

  I am going to take a ride on her question….

  how about advertising for a cause? for instance, including a banner of an association like Peace Corps that would allow donations? Is that allowed?

  Putting a link to a charity I’m sure is not an issue especially since we now have the social vibe widget built right into things, but this is something that still should be run past staff just to make sure. Better safe than sorry.
