Hi Guys
I don’t want to get into trouble here, I have stated a blog on real estate & property management. If on my blog I have links to my website is this advertising. Site is http://waynesmithrealestate.wordpress.com/

It’s not advertising per se, but staff have in the past suspended blogs if they feel the only or primary purpose of the blog is to drive traffic to the external website. If that’s not the case with your blog, then no worries.

Ok, but i plan to drive traffick to my website from my blog BUT i also plan to drive traffick from my website to my blog for posts relating to my business. As an example when i get it up and running i plan to do an article about child proofing your home, so when people are on my website they see a heading about that post and click on it to go to my blog to read the post. So hopefully i will be ok.

If the primary purpose of your blog is to drive traffic to your site, be prepared to see it suspended.
If your blog is a genuine blog and not a series of half-articles followed by “READ THE REST AT MY WEBSITE” etc, you should be okay.

Well said raincaoster. Staff have repeatedly pointed out that REAL blogs that have actual and original contents are not subject to deletion. However, those who establish a wordpress.com blog for the primary purpose of driving readers to their website with short blurbs masquerading as blog posts are not in the comfort zone.
