  I want to upgrade to a theme that will allow me to use my logo in the header, provide links to other sites, and to allow me to place ads for prganziations and people that want to sponsor the site. Can I use a theme such as Magazine to do this, or do I need customization and hosting somewhere else?

  You can add your logo as a custom header image and provide links to external sites in most WordPress.com themes, including Magazine.

  However, advertising outside of our WordAds program isn’t allowed on WordPress.com. You can read more about this here:
