If I buy a personalised domain name through WordPress and transfer my wordpress.com blog to it, will I then be able to advertise through my site? Or would I also have to also purchase hosting?
Interested in turning my personal blog into a professional looking .com site that also allows adverts…very confused about the whole process!

Thanks ardpete…. isn’t that just for WordPress approved ads only though? I write about lingerie brands so I would like to be able to add monetised links to the brands I write about.

For that sort of advertising you’d need your own host unfortunately. Only WordPress approved ads would be allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

Not allowed at all and your site can be suspended as no user initiated ads are allowed

I personally wouldn’t know as I’ve not attempted it myself.
