    Hi. I am planning to upgrade my account after Christmas to make my blog seem more professional. How does the process work for me to choose my own domain name, monetise my blog through advertising – and how does such advertising work.

    Great to hear that you are planning to upgrade the plan.
    There are plenty of options you can earn money by monetizing your site, for more information please visit the following link here:

    By upgrading from the free version to the Personal plan you will now meet the general requirements (a custom domain) and will gain access to a program called WordAds that will allow you to add ads to your site and make money off them. Please check the below link for more details on WordAds:-

    To allow WordAds regardless of the amount of traffic you have you must upgrade to the Premium or Business plan. For more information about these plans and their features, check out this link:
