Advertising imbedded in my blog posts?

  I just noticed that wordpress seems to have embedded some advertising links into select words in my blog posts. What is the deal with that? It is showing like a hyperlink. Not sure I like this because I have no say over what kind of things are advertised. Can I opt out of this?

  If you look toward the bottom of the features page here, it will explain about the advertising which is run occasionally on blogs here to help pay the costs of running wordpress.COM. http://en.wordpress.com/features/

  It is my understanding that the ads will only possibly show when someone comes to your blog via a search engine, and even then not all the time.
