  I’m confused. Here it says you can’t put ads on your wordpress blog http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

  but all over the place there are plugins for monetizing your blog including this official wordpress page

  Then you are confusing WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG WordPress.com or WordPress.org ? The difference

  Lorelle writes for the WordPress community and her blog covers all the aspects. But to make a long story short:

  WordPress.COM=no ads

  WordPress.ORG=ads
