If a friend of mine who owns a bike shop wants to put an ad on my blog, is that possible? I don’t want to jeapordize my blog but I figured I would ask?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’re welcome to support local businesses and friends, as long as they aren’t affiliate programs or traditional advertising where you are paid per impression or per click.
Regarding traditional advertising, we do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:

If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
