Advertising on my blog posts.
-
Why are so many ads appearing on my blog posts. There are at least five on my latest blog. I do not pay for my site, and used to get two ads per post. Now WordPress has outdone itself with multiple adds! I think this is unfair as WordPress is now making loads of money out of my blog posts, and then I am told to upgrade to prevent the ads, and I can only discuss this with a human being if I start paying!!

I understand how the increase in ads on your site feels frustrating. On WordPress.com, sites using the free plan display ads to help support the service, and the number or placement of ads can vary. These ads are not something we can remove individually on free sites.
If you’d prefer to remove ads completely, upgrading to one of our paid plans will remove them and also give you access to direct support from our Happiness Engineers:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/Additionally, if you upgrade to the Premium plan or higher, you’ll be able to apply for the WordAds program, which allows you to show ads on your site and earn revenue from them.
I hope this helps clarify why you’re seeing ads and gives you some options moving forward.
