Advertising on my blogs and ad revenue

  I notice that ads appear on my WP blogs. I know almost nothing about monetizing my blogs, but I vaguely recall that I tried to monetize them in the past. I have never gotten any revenue after a number of years of blogging on WP. I do not know if that is because my traffic is too low or my settings are incorrect. If my traffic is too low to realize revenue, how do I remove the ads? Thx.

  We show ads on free sites hosted on WordPress.com to cover our costs for providing you hosting services for free. If you don’t want those ads to appear on your WordPress.com site, you can remove them by upgrading to any of our paid plans.
