Advertising Revenue
-
Hey,
It’s time to give your bloggers the ability to generate ad revenue from their blogs. While I only have a little traffic, a friend of mine has been blogging for about a year and generates about 5000 page views a month. He wanted to know which blogs pay for ads so he could make some money out of his traffic, and I learned that you DO NOT, though your competitors do. So, I forwarded him on to a competitor instead of referring him to you.
WordPress works well and give some great blog stats, but I’m thinking about switching over to another company, as well, so that I can make some money when my readership increases. I’d suggest revising your service to do the same. Heck, who’s writing all of these pearls of wisdom, anyway?

Well, you may be writing the ‘pearls of wisdom’ but you might want to consider who is paying for the servers that host your blog, and the staff who deal with all the technical support and development. If you don’t like the deal here, that’s fine. WordPress.com isn’t for everyone. But for a free service it’s the best around.

I doubt that 5,000 pageviews per month will generate much in ad revenue. Probably not enough to justify leaving the convenience of this site. Getting 5,000 pageviews per day would be different. If I ever got close to that, I’d think about it. But it’s not likely to happen.
