Advertisments … I want to stay at wordpress.com

    Hello everyone,

So I’ve been meaning to move my site to be self-hosted for a bit now. So I can accept paid sponsorship and run ads and customize my blog a bit more.

But is there anyway I can STAY on wordpress.com and accept paid sponsorship and run ads. Do I need to buy a certain upgrade to do this? Because I will. I really want to stay on here but progress as far as my blog goes and readers go. I know you can buy premium templates and buy an upgrade to customize so that’s great…but what can I do as far as staying here at wordpress.com and being able to run ads and accept paid sponsorship?

    thanks for any help!

    Hi,
If you get a lot of hits then there may be a way of doing it. From the Worpress page on advertising:

We have a feature called Ad Control that lets WordPress.com bloggers with a lot of traffic (generally 25,000 pageviews/month or more) and appropriate content turn on AdSense and Skimlinks for their blog and split the resulting revenues 50/50 with us. If you’d like to apply to try Ad Control, please use the form below to send us a message.

For really huge bloggers there is the VIP hosting, but this starts at a cost of thousands of pounds a month.

Your blog is new and the traffic is low. There is no such thing as a WordPress.com upgrade that will allow you to post blogger initiated “sponsored” advertising.

You could apply for the VIP program: it’s $600 per month plus setup costs.
