Advertisments on website although Personal Plan purchased
-
Hi,
I am the web designer for Regulatory & Compliance Experts who have paid for a Personal Plan but now have advertisements appearing on the website. We have brought this issue up with email support but don’t seem to be getting anywhere. My clients purchased the Personal Plan on 24th February 2017 as per the screenshot below of RCE’s billings history which shows that a Personal Plan was purchased in February which should afford the removal of advertising plus a free domain mapping.
The account was upgraded a week later but then not required so a cancellation to the upgrade was subsequently made. At this point RCE should have been reimbursed the full amount of £55 but in error only £44 was refunded. However, please note that the website was free of adverts until very recently.
W, therefore, believe that the account should be refunded an additional £11 and the removal of advertisements actioned immediately.
Email support keep telling us that we have a free account and need to upgrade to remove adverts even with the screenshot.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi @regulatoryandcomplianceexperts,
Free sites will display ads sometimes. It helps us cover our costs. You currently have a personal plan, so would you like us to cancel and refund that? The site will display ads again.
If you want that, please confirm the site you need help with. Thanks!

No we were requesting that the adverts be removed from the site as we purchased a Personal Plan yet the site suddenly changed its status to a ‘free plan’ and began displaying adverts but upon looking this morning it seems the adverts are no longer displayed and the site is back to saying Personal Plan so the issue has now been fixed.
Many thanks. -
Ah, that sounds confusing, but now I see what happened.
You had Personal, upgraded to Premium, then cancelled premium. That doesn’t step the plan back down to Personal. It cancels it completely — which is why you saw ads again.
You were refunded for the upgrade cost, but not for the personal plan since it was an older purchase. One of my colleagues added Personal to your account again for you, which is why it started working again. As long as you don’t cancel the plan it will continue to work.
Cheers!
