Adverts on WordPress.com
-
I understand that adverts can not be run on the wordpress.com, but have only found information indicating that you can’t run google adsense on the blog. And that you can only use adsense with a blog with very high page views or if you switch to wordpress.org.
Is it still not possible to use an image as an advert or alternatively hardcode it on to the .com blog if you has access to the CSS pages. If i have shown my HTML naivety, soz, i’m pretty new to this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is not only Google Adsense. Monetizing your blog via adverts is not allowed at all.
CSS allows you to change the appearance of your theme. You can’t change its functions.
Domain mapping also does not change the fact that you can not place adverts on your blog.

You need to review the TOS in its entirety, but in particular bullet point 5 in #2 about driving traffic to third-party sites. That is typically what advertising is meant to do whether you get paid for it or not.
If you have any questions, send specific concrete examples to staff and they will look at what you want to do. We volunteers here can only offer opinion based on our experience and observations here. Staff has the final say.
