Advice for beginner

  Hello everyone, I was wondering how long it takes, and what it takes, to get a decent amount of traffic to my site.

  Right now I’ve had about 130 views and 60 visitors in the past 9 days. Is this good?

  Any help and advice is much appreciated!

  Hi there. I’m afraid there’s no guideline regarding traffic. As an example, after three years my site averages around 60 views a day, but for the past five days it has exceeded 170 per day, due to a year-old post suddenly appearing on the first page of Google results. Engagement (shares and comments), which for me is much more important, has remained the same. Traffic is completely unpredictable, and worrying about it too much is likely to ruin blogging for you.

  It looks like you have a week old blog with some content – blogging or web sites are not for those addicted to instant gratification – unless you are a genius at marketing it will take a while to build traffic

  All traffic is relative, there will always be those with more and some with less – that is why I don’t show traffic sites on my site other than the where visitors are from has some info that I don’t really look at

  Thanks guys. I didn’t want to sound like I was trying to get a ton of traffic quick, I was just curious.

  However I’ve found that promoting my site on various other sites has been working really well! I got 65 visitors for today alone and 140 views. I guess I just have to tell people and connect with my audience.

  Connecting with people is the best strategy, yes.
