Advice on customisation

    I’m not strong technically, just a blogger.

    I’ve noticed that there are a number of premium sites you can buy from a aesthetic perspective. Whereas I’m more interested in trying to make my blog more easy to follow, for example, the follow function doesn’t seem to work on mobile and to add comments on a blog someone has to sign up wordpress if they don’t have an account.

    It’s things like this, where I might need widgets or a slightly more technically advanced version of the site.

    Is there somewhere I can go and request these things and then get a customised version of the site?

    Hello! I can help you get those things set up right here!

    First, your follow button. We actually have a few different follow buttons that we display depending on whether you’re logged in or not, or using the app or the browser. Can you tell me what follow button you were using on mobile that doesn’t seem to work?

    Second, adding comments without a WordPress.com account. You already have this set up! Your settings have your commenting form requiring a name and an email address, but not requiring that users be logged in in order to comment:

    Did you have someone try to comment and be required to log in? This would mean that the email address they entered is associated with a WordPress.com account. In order to make a comment with an email address that’s associated with an active account, you have to log in.

    Hi Shauna,

    That’s really strange, I’ve just went back into my mobile version of the site and the follow button is at the tope of the page. I could swear I never saw it there before!

    Thanks for your advice. If I wanted to find out how to best optimise the blog and tips on promoting it to a wider audience, where is the best place to find this info?
