Advice on moving a domain name

    Hi I have a domain name (no live website!) with HostGator that expires in a week or so and would like some advice on how to move it and or park it somewhere until I am ready with content to make a webite/blog. Can I do this with wordpress?
    It’s so confusing with all the providers out there know what to do.. many thanks S J
