advice on pages, posts and categories
-
Hi Forum,
I need some advice on how next to proceed with regards to a navigation issue, here is an example page:
http://shaunhines.wordpress.com/hanselandgretel/I need a set of navigation links on the right hand side of the site but I’m not sure which method to adopt.
I need to replace the Blogroll with a list of headings that link back to pages or posts on my site that contain multiple links to external websites. For example, as it currently stands, anyone that chooses the ‘Story Telling Events’ link ends up being taken to 1 such event. Ideally I want that ‘Story Telling Events’ link to open a page/post on my blog that contains a set of links to a variety of such events. Hope that makes sense?
My problem is I’m not sure whether to design these lists of links in a page or a post? A page’s heading will appear in the top menu bar, which I don’t want and a post will appear in the archive, not ideal either. This is where my understanding of post/pages and categories fails me as a newbie.
I have been battling along and reading through certain support areas to get the blog this far but I have a deadline looming and need to to get this issue sorted as soon as possible. Needless to say any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This can be done for your posts automatically, just by using the proper categories for each post and the Category widget. To do this for a list of outside posts, you would add them to your blogroll via the Links widget, as normal, but instead of the “blogroll” category, you would put them in the “Whatever” category. Then there’d be sub-headings on your blogroll, and the posts/pages/blogs/resources within each would be in alphabetical order.
