I’m getting this errror code on my blog:

“Oops! There was a problem loading the video. (Error code: #120)”

    Can someone look into it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Tony – Are you running any kind of ad blocking extensions in your browser? Do you see the same thing if you load the page in an alternate browser, such as Chrome or Safari?

If so, can you please make a screenshot of what you’re seeing? Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

You can upload it to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.

Hi there. Yes, I am running ad-blockers bit I have disabled them on all browsers for my WP blog so that I can see what adverts are coming up and how they look on the blog. Initially I could see them with no problems. Since yesterday I am getting this error message. I have uploaded screenshots from all three of my browsers into my media folder: Ingliando-firefox, Ingliando-chrome, and Ingliando-safari. I work on a Mac with Mavericks OS. I have also checked on my son’s computer (also a mac but with an older OS) and he has the same problem. At times the error message does not come up but the area allocated to the video simply remains blank. THis evening, initially, Safari picked up a video but as soon as I reloaded the page I got the error message back again. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Tony – Ok, thanks for the explanation and screenshots. I’ve passed this along to our Ads team and asked them to take a look.

Thanks a lot. It’s still happening. Another thing I?ve noticed is that in muy dashboard my site still gets referred to as ingliando.wordpress.com even thoguh I do have my own domain with you. Is this just the way things are or does it need some kind of an update? I would like the site to be known as ingliando.net but I don’t seem to get that option.

  • Thanks a lot. It’s still happening.

Our ad network claimed to have fixed that this morning, and I’m not noticing any problem myself. Would you please try clearing your browser’s cache? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

Then, if you still see it, please take a fresh screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so I can report it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

    That’s normal. :)

Think of your custom domain as just a fresh new change of clothes for your WordPress.com blog. Visitors see ingliando.net now, but on the inside, it’s still ingliando.wordpress.com.

I still have the problem here and I have cleared my cache. I can take more screenshots if it is useful but they will be absolutely identical to the ones I have already uploaded. When you say “Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so I can report it” what exactly do you mean?

  • When you say “Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so I can report it” what exactly do you mean?

I mean upload the screenshot via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard as you did earlier. That way, I can download your screenshot and send it over to the ad network.

I’m sending your most recent one from yesterday now, but I suspect they’re just going to look at the time stamp and reiterate that they fixed it already. It would be nice to send a fresh one from after they “fixed” it to them, if you don’t mind.

Ah, okay. Will do right now.

I’ve just finished uploading three new screenshots for Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

  • Excellent, thank you! I sent a second reply to the ad network with the fresh screenshots attached.

Thank you for your help. Just out of curiosity, do you see the ads okay on my site?

  • I do, the network with the problem is only being shown to visitors from a small set of European countries.

  • Unknown's avatar

The problem is that being a blog written in Italian, it is probably of greater interest in exactly those countries with the problem. Anyhow, here’s hoping for a fast solution :)

  • I’m hoping so too. Given that this network is based in the UK, we might not hear back for a bit.

We’ll see. In any case it’s not what I would call a MAJOR problem, just a little annoying :)
