Affect on existing URLs with Permalink change in Business Plan

    I have over 300 posts and just updated to the Business Plan.

    I’m currently utilizing the default Day & Name Permalink setting and would like to change it to a Catagory/post-name scheme. However, I’m scared to death if doing that change will change all my current posts. That would result in 404 hell and totally mess up my site.

    Will invoking a Permalink change affect all current posts or just new posts going forward?

    Hi there,

    Changing that setting will change it for all permalinks on your site, not just new posts – it changes the URL-structure for the site as a whole.

    But that feature is designed so that all other existing links using the default structure should automatically redirect to the correct links with the new structure. If it causes links to break, please let us know and we can take a look.
