Affiliate links disabled in my feed, but I'm .org?

Oh this is super frustrating. I threw up the subscribe widget on my blog for one day when I first installed the jet-pack. I got 40+ subscribers that day. However, I found that my affiliate links aren’t working in those emails when the posts get sent out to subscribers. It says that wordpress.com does not allow affiliate links and sends them to an information page that makes me look like a fraud! Talking about multi-level marketing and the dangers of affilate programs. I have a good honest blog and I work hard promoting products that I actually USE and love and I have a self-hosted .org wordpress. I sent these people individual emails asking them to click ‘unsubscribe’ and then go re-subscribe on my website where I have replaced the box with a feedburner form like I had before. So how can I:

    A. Get rid of those subscriptions myself
    -or-
    B. Disable wordpress.com inbox feed
    -or-
    C. Enable my COMPLETELY LEGAL affiliate links?

WordPress.COM has absolutely, positively, 100% zero to do with your self-hosted site. Nothing.

Yes that’s my confusion. The links are sending them to a site that explains why wordpress.com won’t forward them on to the actual link. How is my .org crossing paths with this information meant for a .com wordpress? This happened as a result of playing with the jet pack widgets. Wish I hadn’t!

Post over at http://jetpack.me in the forum there, or use the support contact form. It could be that there is a bug that is causing the links to be deleted.

If you would try to post the RSS feed from your .ORG site into a blog hosted here at wordpress.com, then I suspect that the links would get deleted since affiliate links are not allowed here, even in an incoming RSS feed.

The jetpack support forums are just wordpress.com forums. I’ve completely deleted jetpack. Hopefully that will kick out those few subscribers. What a pain! Thanks for your responses!

I experienced the same – self hosted blog, 222 subscribers and wordpress.com changed my links. I wrote to them to change that behaviour and published an article about that on my blog.

Well I guess I am done with JetPack too!
