Affiliate Links on WordPress.com
-
I have been running my blog from last 2 years. Now I am getting good traffic (18K last Oct), I want to start some revenue. I applied for AdWord but they said I am not getting threshold traffic.
Today I read about “http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/”. It clrearly mentions that we can put Affiliate Links on our free WordPress blog to get some revenue. So could we put Affiliate links? Is there any threat to our blog? Can WordPress suspend my blog for the same?I have got a good respect in internet. Daily I am getting 500-1000 hits. So I don’t want to take any risk. Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
You can definitely use affiliate links on WordPress.com. The only thing we ask is that the affiliate links fit in with your blog naturally (i.e. you continue to create original content and use affiliate links every so often). We just want to avoid having blogs with the sole purpose of driving traffic to affiliate links. Also, please do not use the affiliate links to link images within your sidebar. That would then be considered an ad.

Hi!
You can use affiliate links in your sidebar within a text widget. The main restriction is to avoid using them with images. So, you can’t add an image to your sidebar and link it to an affiliate link. That would be considered an advertisement.
