Am I allowed to place an affiliate logo on my page? Also how to I obtain the header widget to edit?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No.
1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners and/or affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

Also how to I obtain the header widget to edit?
Be aware that there is no header widget. Also, know that we bloggers cannot access metadata and cannot insert anything at all into the <header> of any wordpress.com hosted blog.
Your detailed theme description page is here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/cubic/ and the live demo site is at http://cubicdemo.wordpress.com/
There is no header image feature in that theme. -
I’m just so upset I stuck with WP for so long and nothing has changed as far as ads + affiliate links. Every other free platform offer these.
Now if I pay to self host and go with wordpress.org – then the ppl who follow my blog already do not transfer over and I do not show up in their readers anymore, correct?
So ultimately, anyone who does this transition is basically starting up their blog from the bottom.
Is there any plan to update the ad and affiliate rules on wordpress.com?

I have been here for nearly 10 years. I loved the fact that in the beginning no affiliate links were allowed at all. Back then bloggers were motivated by their passions and their passions did not include money mongering. They published original content on interesting subjects rather than publishing no quality or low-quality articles motivated by income earning.
Is there any plan to update the ad and affiliate rules on wordpress.com?
The answer is no but you can move to self-hosting if you wish. This guide will explain how to move your WordPress.com site to another hosting platform https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/

No. Install and activate the Jetpack plugin on a self-hosted site and follow these instructions https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site
Staff can and will move your stats for you after you set up your new wordpress.ORG install and migrate your subscribers. All you have to do is create another thread here requesting stats migration.

I would never post anything on my page that I didn’t believe in but there are some really good opportunities for topics that I’m really interested in that I can also monetize – it just sucks I can’t merge the two on WordPress.com because I really do love the site and I love the interactions with my followers.
Thanks for the info! I know I can carry over my emailed subscribers – but what abt the ones that hit follow. Is there a way to still show up in the reader?

Is there a way to still show up in the reader?
No. Only posts published on sites that are hosted by wordpress.COM appear on the WordPress.COM tags and Categories pages.
