Affiliate Programs
-
Hi, I really want to start making money from my blog, using affiliate programs. Am I allowed to do this from my free blog, or do I need to have a paid site (or a paid website).
Many thanks

No upgrade is required to post affiliate links. Affiliate links are allowed on WordPress.com as long as the primary purpose of your blog is to create original content.
Please read:

The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains that have enough traffic to qualify for acceptance into the plan.

http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/
https://wordads.co/faq/For the ability to add third party advertising to a site you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.

https://move.wordpress.com/WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

@dragoso
Hi there and good day wishes to you too. :)It’s morning for me and so far no new Volunteers need to be told not to copy and paste my answers into threads as if they are their words and not mine. Maybe it will be a good day and that won’t happen. Yesterday wasn’t a good one but I am hopeful. Thanks but don’t you use my answers without attribution, quotes and a backlink, okay? :)

Hey @timethief, good morning! ( almost 7:30pm here )
Yep, not funny when this is happening :( please let me know on which thread I did this if you don’t mind. Just checked the answers I posted yesterday and couldn’t find any. Thanks much!

Lol, I’m pretty sure I never did this, it’s not my type of helping others :) that’s why I asked.

@dragoso
lol :) I was pretty sure you didn’t even think about doing it. I was just covering all bases as 4 other Volunteers were doing this. -
Please forgive the off topic exchanges between Volunteers above.
I hope I provided what you needed above. Best wishes with your site. -
@timethief yikes! just read that, it looks you had a lot of fun :D lol
@mizzmagenta, sorry for the offtopic replies, best of luck with the affiliate programs.
