affiliates with zanox

Is it allowed to add affiliated links from Zanox on a wordpress.com or do I need to have a self-hosted site? And if it is possible how to upload the code to verify?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

Okay, but that doesn’t answer if Zanox is allowed and if yes, how I can upload the link. All of course given that links are not primary content.

I can’t answer that without viewing the actual link. If it’s JavaScript then it cannot be used.
No blogger initiated advertising is allowed on WordPress.com blogs. The only blogs that can be equipped for ecommerce are those with the $299. per year business upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/
The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

It looks like the Zanox platform automatically creates the affiliate links based on brands that have paid to advertise through Zanox. In that setup, the affiliate links wouldn’t be for products you selected; they would be for products Zanox is trying to promote. Since the affiliate links are Zanox-driven and not user-driven, they are not allowed.
In contrast, you could compare this to Amazon’s affiliate linking program that allows you to look-up specific items and link them within the content of your blog.
