Affinity theme sidebar won't show up

Hello! I’m new to this website, and am using the Affinity theme for my blog, but no matter how many different ways I’ve tried, the sidebar won’t appear on the website. I’ve tried creating it and editing it in about two or three different places, but so far no luck – it just won’t show up. The page with the information about my blog’s theme says that I can have my website in a two-column setup where one column acts like a sidebar. Am I missing something that I need to do in the editing of my blog to create the sidebar? Or am I doing something wrong in the settings entirely?
