afraid to delete, not sure if its the right step!

    I started a blog a few months ago with a free wordpress site. Then, I bought hosting with Blue Host. So I transferred my site content over there.

    And my free wordpress site is still up. I’m afraid to delete it… but now I have 2 sites!

    Can I safely delete the free site and not affect my new site. One is joyfulhealingpath.wordpress.com, the other is joyfulhealing path.com.. Do I delete or use site redirect? Delete sounds dangerous!

    now that I have bluehost, am I “self hosting”?

    You should be able to delete it PROVIDED all the content including images is now hosted (not just displayed) at your new blog. Click on an image, view its URL, and make sure it’s coming from your new blog, not just hotlinked from your old one.

    I generally recommend setting the WP.com blog to Private. That way you have a blog you can use to tinker with widgets and things before putting them on your real blog. And yes, you’re self-hosting now.

    Only buy a redirect if your old site was getting lots of traffic and you want to keep it, just at the new URL. If it was getting less than 200 hits a day, it’s probably not worth it.
