After Domain Mapping Upgrade; Cannot Preview

    Good Day To All,

    My problem is related to a Private WP.com blog: westernreserveinteractive.com.

    Immediately after completing the Domain Mapping Upgrade I’m unable to preview posts and pages from the Dashboard. When I attempt to preview, I get the WordPress.com log-in screen. When I press the log-in button, I immediately get the log-in screen again. This behavior continues for as many times as I choose try to log-in. To be clear, I’m already logged in and editing when I attempt to Preview. Any ideas?

    Thanks, WRi

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Continued . . . Sorry

    Two important points I omitted from the original post:
    1. When I log-in to the Dashboard, the URL is: mydomain.wordpress.com/ . . .
    2. Once logged in, I get the log-in screen at the URL: mydomain.com

    Dashboard admin is obviously at wordpress.com. Are previewed pages and posts at mydomain.com? As a Private blog, do I need to create a separate log-in for Preview?

    Thanks Again, WRi

    First off, when you change the DNS records and map a domain, it can take 24-72 hours for the DNS change to make it through all the internet nameservers although it will typically happen in 24 hours or less. There is no way to rush this. It takes whatever time it takes.

    I would suggest giving it 24 hours and I think you will see that things will settle down and stabilize.

    Also, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again. You might have to do this several times over the next 24 hours.

    @TheSacredPath,

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ll wait for it. In the mean time, my work around is to temporarily change the Privacy setting so I can preview. Oddly, when I preview with Privacy Off, the WP.com toolbar (w/My Account, My Blog, etc) doesn’t appear at the top of the page like it used to. At least I can continue working. I’ll update tomorrow.

    Thanks, WRi

    You are welcome, and I’m sure within 24 hours it will have stabilized.
