After Install Problems

  Hi all,

  I’m new to the fourm and also to WordPress.

  I’m setting up for my company to be used as an Intranet. I’m first testing it on a spare PC, which Apache, PHP and SQL installed with the latest versions and working fine.

  The install was excellent and easy. The problems which is face is the following two:

  After the install, i think it say’s logon which i do, but then instead of being taken to the login page i’m taken to the directory structure (http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin). I fixed this problem by adding in index.php (http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php) after the path to get in, but this is wrong and i’m sure that there is something which i’m missing.

  The very same thing happens for the site, once in the admin console and if i click on the button which say’s “Visit site” i’m taken to http://localhost/wordpress/ and not the site, but if i add index.php at the end it takes me to the site.

  Now i’m just a newbie and need to get this project rolling, your help will be great, please.

  You need to ask these questions at wordpress.org forums not wordpress.com. WordPress.com is only for blogs hosted here at wordpress.com. WordPress.org is for the software support. See the sticky post for further details on the difference of .org and .com.
