I added my first post under “thoughts of the day”. How can people comment on my post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On your Dashboard, scroll down the left menu and click Settings.
At the top of that screen click ‘Discussion’.
The first set of options includes this item, which must be switched on for comments;
“Allow people to post comments on new articles”
There are several other options on this screen which allow you to refine how comments & discussions are handled and displayed.I hope this help you.

If you have enabled comments, under your posts, you will see a comments box, if that does not show, then the comment options needs to be reviewed.
Your posts are kept on your blog/website unless you remove them.

I added a photo to my photography page. but it’s not there. it says welcome to my blog. only my home page should say that.

As long as “..leave a reply at the bottom” is at the bottom of each post, then yes, that would be the comment section.
For the photo-add, from the dashboard left menu, look at Site Pages to see how many are shown (you can click each one to see what’s on them).
Also look at Blog Posts to see if the photo is showing there, and perhaps it is in draft rather than published. -

How can you tell if people can leave comments? do they see something I don’t?
On your Admin site, navigate to the ‘Comments’ page on your left menu. Comments would appear on this page. There would also be notifications of a comment on the ‘Your Stuff’ panel of your main Dashboard.
I added a photo to my photography page. but it’s not there. it says welcome to my blog. only my home page should say that.
Insert the image in the main frame of your ‘Photography’ page, not in the feature image. Change the title of your photography page from “Welcome to my blog” to your desired title.

Do make sure that the permalink to your ‘Photography’ page should be
. I see that your ‘Photography’ page on your current site is linked as

On your Admin page, navigate to Pages, and edit your ‘Photography’ page. You can edit the permalink address, it is displayed right below the Title field.
Make sure to that your site’s menu is also reflecting the correct page. You can edit this on the Menus page under Appearance through adding and removing pages.

It appears you fixed the permalink but the page contents has not changed. Are you able to locate and navigate to your ‘Welcome to My Blog’ page? If yes, you can edit its contents to what you originally intended your ‘Photography’ page to be.

I see my welcome to my blog page. but if I edit my photography content. I’ll lose my home page.

Right now;
I can see a menu running horizontal across your pages;
(Home / Thoughts / Photos / Accessibility / Public speaking)
On your ‘Photography’ page I see an image of a bird.
The page-top image & Logo/title stays in place across all pages.
When I click into the ‘Reply’ box, I would be able to leave a comment.Does this help ?
