After saving custom CSS all widths are removed
-
Hi everyone,
I have an issue with the site I’m working on. Yesterday everything was fine, but after some minor changes this morning I noticed the site’s structure was wrong. After some digging I realize that all the widths from my custom stylesheet are being removed when I hit the ‘save’ button. Is there a reason why this could be happening? Last night everything was working, and today I just changed some images.
I appreciate any help :)

I’m sorry but you forgot to post an active link starting with http:// to the site you are working on.

Thanks for much for posting the link. I don’t help with CSS editing but the custom design upgrade does come with Staff support so please be patient while waiting.

It could be, because I didn’t change anything that might have broken the site’s structure (at least not intentionally). I’m using the Chateau theme, I tried switching to Twenty Eleven but the problem persists.
I hope someone here can give us a hint.

Well, I have another site hosted at WP.com and after doing a minor CSS change (per request) I click ‘save’ and it does the same thing, all widths disappear.
Please someone get back to us on this issue, I need to know what to do to solve it. I have to finish the first site (and correct the second one) by Monday.

This is a bug. Thanks for reporting it!
avieira104, great workaround! Once we fix the issue, switching to min-width shouldn’t be needed. Apologies for the trouble.

I have the same problem with not keeping the widths to all my sides in WP. I think thw central WP support must fix it immentiatelly. as our sites presentations are wrong and not readable. The same problem exists also using the standard WP stylesheet for all themes.

This bug affected ‘width’ and ‘z-index’ properties. If you tried to save CSS on your WordPress.com blog between 2012-03-23 at 13:30 Eastern Time and 2012-03-24 09:30 Eastern time (20 hours), the ‘width’ and ‘z-index’ would have been removed.
If you were affected, you should revert the latest change using the CSS Revisions section at the bottom right of your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page.
If you need any help at all, please post here or use http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and I will help you. Hopefully very few people were affected!
