After transferring to another register
-
I have transferred my domain name completely to GoDaddy.com. If I do a search for my company name, “Olde York Station”, the WordPress site is still listed as the first link. Now that my domain name is with another provider, and I will begin to use Square Space as my web hosting platform, is there a way to delete my WordPres site so that traffic is not sent to my [old] WordPress site? How do I have it deleted from web searches all together?
Thanks!

Howdy,
You can set your site to Private via Settings->Reading (direct link: https://oldeyorkstation.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php ), which you’ve already done.
The search engines will update the next time you crawl your site and realize they can’t get in. The timetable is up to the specific search engines.
If you have any questions or need anything else, please let us know. Thanks!
