After upgrade – Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_catname()

After attempting an automatic upgrade this morning to wp2.8.4 I think? I am getting this error at all pages of the site including under /wp-admin and the site itself… So I’m a bit stuck.

Will go into phpmyadmin and save the databases now, hopefully I’m not too late. I realise I should have backed up first… I definitely will from now on.
