AGAIN with the 'improvement' in the work area
-
What’s going on WP? I just now popped in to make a small edit to an older post. It’s like being offered a chair and being forced to keep your feet off the floor and instead squeeze them up onto your chair where you’re forced to hold your legs in with your arms. How kind.
The scroll bar goes a short distance and disappears. The window can’t be resized or moved from where it sits, awkwardly, in the bottom right hand corner.
Please tell me that that isn’t permanent.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The main thread about this, is here:

We actually just pushed a fix for this yesterday. Can you clear your cache and let me know if you still have this issue?
-
You fixed what we don’t want? I have zero interest in the fluff version of the editor. I have zero interest in the fluff version of professionals working hard to take the palace that was WordPress and carve it up into wing shops, dollar stores, tatoo and massage parlours.

@arrby – You’re always welcome to move to a self hosted install of the core WordPress software.

We’ll even help you do it!
https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
We believe that your content is your own. We won’t hold it hostage or only allow you to move certain places. If WordPress.com isn’t working for you as a host anymore, you can take your content wherever you want. :)
Let me know if I can help further!

@shawnajroberts: It is not that, it’s that we pay are entitled to complain if something does not work. Do not put the link to edit to the classic editor is just a whim of developers.
-
@galois
With respect I say that this is not a whim at all. Over a year of Staff time have been devoted to this project of developing an in-house editor. Clearly, they believe restoring the classic editor link to the new editor would defeat their purpose which is to promote the new editor. We have reached a juncture where disgruntled end users have to accept that reality and move on. -

It is worse.

The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. From: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5#post-2316097It is over. The link will not be restored. We end users who prefer using the classic editor must each make a choice about where we are hosted and how to move on after accepting the reality that it’s over.
-
What I ‘want’ is a good replacement for WordPress and hopefull, it’s brand of ‘professionals’.

Are you really saying it’s WP’s policy to make end users who have a very legitimate wish of easy access to an editor they like LEAVE WordPress? With all due respect: you can’t be serious.
-
@timethief
After reading again what you said, it seems to me that it will be a (short) time only until, contrary to all we are assured of as regards WP keeping the classic editor, that will be completely removed.
