I am receiving emails from angry people whose comments are being blocked by Akismet. How do I turn off Akismet? I do not want a Democrat telling me who I can and cannot communicate with.

Reply to: You can’t as long as your blog is on WordPress.COM
Then this akismet is like Barack Obama standing there smiling at us while Wright is doing Obama’s preaching to kill us- we have to have this thing deciding what is good or bad for us like we are children. -
nevermind akismet!!!!
you can control which comments can be made on your site:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/#comment-management
http://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-comments/And this:
Who Can Comment
You can allow only registered WordPress.com users to comment, or you can allow anyone to comment. If you allow anyone to comment, you can choose whether the name and email fields are required or not.

Also keep in mind that Akismet does not block comments based on one political view or another (and remember that wordpress.com is international).
Perhaps your readers are adding lots of links in their comments. Or using language which triggers a “spammer” response for whatever reason. If you check your spam, akismet will “learn” what is and isn’t real spam.
