  Question. I downloaded WordPress through Fantastico to the server and seemed to work fine. Log in to Admin area where they sent my PW and USer Name and when I try to set up Akismet to get the API KEY, it asks to log in. I am confused because I have Log in through ADMIN. So the API KEY doesnt show up when I hit the tap to get the API key. It says to Log in again.

  Is this step needed?

  To use Akismet, you have to have the API key and that is from your wordpress.COM account. When setting up Akismet and it asks for you to login, it is asking for your wordpress.COM login information so that it can check the API key that you entered is valid. put in your username and
