Akismet deleting comments

  Why does Akismet automatically delete some “spam” comments without letting me approve them first? How does it really know for sure those are definitely spammy comments? The last few “spam” comments have not even shown up in my spam queue at all – they’ve just been completely deleted without warning. Is there any way of allowing us to approve every single comment, no matter how spammy they may be? I just don’t want any legitimate comment to get lost in the spam filter.
