Akismet? ? I wold like to understand what they consider spam

  Akismet has blocked 50+ comments from reaching me and I would like to know why? Isn’t it up to moderate what I allow on my site rather than them! ? How can I disable that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,
  There are some bad folks who have created bots so it sents automatic comments on any blogs or sites so to protect your blog or site. Akismet simply blocks Unwanted Comments and Comment Spam on your WordPress.com blog or website.

  The so much!!! I have emailed them to ask how to remove that from my site because I can moderate my own comments before its posted to my site! !! It’s too important to lose that many comments and I don’t know if they were legit or not! !! It’s too important to get them come thru given the goal of my mission. I hope they can be retrieved so I can know who they were from and what they were saying, ..I don’t think my that sounds very fair that they have just removed them…

  I understand what your saying. ..but how can I totally understand that explanation when I haven’t seen the comments? How would I know if they were legit or not comments? I have set my account for me to receive email notification first moderation before any post reach my site so why do I need akismet blocking any? Especially 50+… I need to disable that and see if I can retrieve them comments if possible? ??

  How would I know if the comments were legit or not? I have set my site to receive email notification so I can moderate and approve before any comments are posted to my site! So I don’t need akismet interrupting my comments from reaching me…that doesn’t seem right or comfortable to me..I thought it was strange that moments weren’t coming through. !!! Besides from the people I know!!!!! That is not acceptable.
