  The Akismet widget is unavailable, and thus I cannot access it from settings.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there,
  Provided you are logged in as Admin, you should be able to see the widget by going to Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets. Drag the Akismet Widget to the Sidebar Widget Area.
