Akismet’s trapping the good stuff

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve read several threads by others having the same problem but have yet to see a solution. Akismet is trapping good comments on my blog. I have clicked on Dashboard/Comments/Akismet Spam as suggested on another thread, and all I see is this message:

Akismet has caught 12 spam for you since you first installed it.
You have no spam currently in the queue. Must be your lucky day. :)

Where can I review the 12 spam that have been trapped? I know there are several legitimate posts there because my associates have told me they have posted, but they are not showing up.

    Thank you.

This is a long standing issue and there are many searchbox threads on it. To search the spam filter -> Comments -> Akismet spam
Look in the filter and mark those comments that are not spam accordingly. It will take several times before Akismet learns. If you cannot find the comments note that they can take days to show up. If days pass and you still can’t locate them then please use this link http://akismet.com/contact/

Make sure you give ‘links’ to some of the comments that Akismet is trapping so that they can compare and find out the problem. It is important to give as many URL’s of comments trapped as possible!

Trent, I can’t give links to the comments that Akismet is trapping since I can’t see them anywhere. All I can see is a total – Akismet has blocked 12 comments – but the comments themselves aren’t visible. I’ve emailed support. Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

I know there are several legitimate posts there because my associates have told me they have posted, but they are not showing up.

Staff can’t track without specific information. Your associates can provide you with the email addresses from which they posted comments. That information will provide staff with something to begin the tracking process. As much information as possible should be submitted here as a support request http://akismet.com/contact/

I’ve noticed that it takes a couple of days for Akismet to cough up its stash. I will go 2 days with nothing in there, then suddenly a bunch appear.
