Align Audio Player?

    Yes, it specifically says it’s limited, but it doesn’t say anywhere at all to what it’s limited to.

    The only limit it actually lists is that you can’t put script code in it. So pardon me for assuming that when it says “customize blog layout” that it means customizing the whole layout of the blog.

    And there is no reason we would have to sacrifice any sort of security to be able to use CSS to reposition the player, and even if you didn’t want to go that route, you could still set it up in a way where the player could be centered by normal means like practically EVERYTHING else you can put on your blog.

    Besides, this forum is the SUPPORT forum, and I assumed that actual staff members would be looking into it, at least from time to time (and I know they do because I’ve seen other volunteers mark a thread for Staff review, something I as a normal user can’t do).

    I also just spent 10 minutes digging all throughout the WordPress.com links and can’t find a single link that allows me to directly or indirectly contact WordPress.com staff for support.

    So, if there was a way to take it up with the staff, I would, but I can’t seem to find it.

    So, quit acting like a butt-hurt little baby. I wasn’t being disrespectful to anyone, all I did was point out things you would think you could do, ask how to do them, then state how I thought it should work, because it doesn’t work that way.

    Then you come in, disrespectful as hell…
    “WordPress.COM is different from WordPress.ORG and you must have different expectations for them. If you really insist on a blog that works like WordPress.ORG, you will have to move to WordPress.ORG.”

    Assuming that 1. I was familiar with out WordPress.ORG in general worked and already had preconceived expectations for WordPress.COM from my (assumed by you) experience with WordPress.ORG, and 2. I’m a complete n00b and idiot (inherent from the above explanation).

    I was staying on topic, trying to figure out another work-around other than tables if it would even be possible for doing this, then you come in all condescendingly telling me that I need to either abandon my theory or abandon my blog, offering NO real help with anything other than stating the blatantly obvious and generally telling me to take a hike from WordPress in a passive-aggressive, beat-around-the-bush kind of way.

    What you are asking for is not possible at WordPress.com outside of the $600 per month VIP program.

    It doesn’t matter how much passionate typing you add: the fact remains the same. You must either change your expectations and adapt to the way this particular blogging platform works, or you must find another one.

    Oh, and if you can’t find a link to contact staff despite digging everywhere for ages, try the 24/7 Support link immediately at the bottom of this page, or the large Help button on your dashboard.

    @anathematized1:

    1) This is wrong:
    <div style="margin:-18px auto; align: center">

    2) Centering the player in Black-Letterhead:

    <table align="center">
    etc.

    or:

    <div class="aligncenter" style="width:290px;">
    SHORTCODE
    </div>

    3) You’re making a big fuss over something unimportant. The WP audio player is a crappy little thing. You don’t like the way it’s configured? Use a different player.

    4) Links to the Support site (includes Contact Support) are all over the place:
    • Admin bar (blog page top, dashboard top): My Account > Get Support
    • Dashboard upper right corner: Help
    • Dashboard bottombar: Support
    • Forum header: Support
    • Forum bottombar: 24/7 Support

    (Plus Soundcloud, plus Odeo, plus others…)

    Odeo no longer works. Hasn’t in quite a while. I had all my files hosted there and they all died when the team started working on Twitter instead.
