Aligning images and text in Block editor
-
I don’t know how to align images with text in the new block editor. It only seems to work in the classic editor.
My image seems to float in the middle of the blog post, with the text below it annoyingly aligned a few spaces to the left of the image.
This still works fine in Classic Editor, but unless I can find a way to make them align in Block Editor I can’t see myself using it.
Here is a link to a draft post I am talking about: https://anthonywilsonpoetry.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=11801&action=edit
With thanks, Anthony

Hello Anthony!
Your link is not working. A draft post would only be visible to staff. If you want a staff response you can add a modlook tag to your thread, or your plan also includes the option to connect with staff through live chat support.
Browsing some live posts, I see the post images and text appear to be left-aligned. Spinning up a test site with your theme (Rebalance), I see that this is the default format for text and images in a new post. I was able to reproduce the formatting of your live posts without changing any settings in either the paragraph block or the image block.
If there is another sample that you would like for us volunteers to see, please post again with a link.

Thank you so much for this.
Sadly I don’t understand a word of what you are saying to me. I have looked at a modlook tag and don’t understand what it is.
I don’t understand what spinning up is. I don’t understand why everything is left aligned so easily in classic editor and is not in block editor.
I don’t know how to show you a draft post because you are not staff. I don’t want to post something that looks ugly when I have not sorted out how to get it looking good.
Please can you translate what you have told me into words I can understand.
With thanks for your help.

Hello again Anthony!
I added a modlook tag to your thread to flag it for staff attention. The staff person will be able to view your draft post and respond more specifically after seeing an example of the problem.
To summarize my prior post: I am suggesting that you are probably close to resolving the question of how to produce the formatting you want in the new editor.
Thanks for your patience!

For aligning images, please follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#aligning-images
Also, depending on exactly what you want, you might want to try a Columns Block https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/ where you can place an image in one column and text in another.
