So basically at the bottom of each post in the blog, the share buttons aren’t aligned properly. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

  • Hi there!

I had a look at your site, and the sharing buttons look like this on my end:

Do you see the same thing on your end? If so, what do you mean they are not aligned properly? Were you expecting the buttons to appear somewhere else on the post? Let us know, we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

Oh sorry i meant is there a way to center them because they look like this

  • Thanks for the screenshot! I had a look at your site and I’m starting to suspect this might be dependent on a combination of two or three things:

    1. The blog post template (aka: the ‘Single’ template)
    2. Your sidebar layout, within the blog post content
    3. How sharing buttons are set up to appear on a post

I activated your theme Amulet on a test site of mine and by default the sharing buttons aren’t flush against the edge of the screen when I check a test post; they’re not right in the centre but they are far more in the middle than on your site!

I took the liberty of checking your Single template and it looks like the ‘Post Content’ block (which is what lets the contents of a blog post show up on that post’s individual page) is set to not restrict the width of the content of the post. I’m guessing that’s because you have your two sidebars set up within the post content? The sharing buttons are also technically added within the post content, which is why they’ve ended up flush against the margin.

If you’d want to consider automating the ‘recent posts’ sidebar so you don’t have to manually set that up for every blog post, you could technically move it out of your blog post content, and instead put it in the Single template, so that it looks more like this:

Screenshot: editor view showing List View open, template contents including Row block containing Post Content and Reusable "Latest Posts" block

I should note that this wouldn’t completely centre the sharing buttons, but it will stop them from being right against the edge of the browser.

I noticed that you also have a blog post or two where the Recent Posts section is on the right side. You could even set up a custom template to use for certain blog posts, where the Post Content and the reusable blocks as shown above are reversed, so that the sidebar is on the right. We do have a general Templates guide if this is something that could be useful for you!

Otherwise if you’d prefer not to make any changes to the template, let us know – we may be able to suggest some CSS code to force the sharing buttons to appear closer to the centre of your blog posts instead.
