aligning tables? How?

    At the bottom of two of my pages I want to use horizontal tables, stacked on top of each other. The information of the different cells are different and i would like to have them lined up like nice little ducklings. Tried using ____ but it looks cheesy. And it doesn’t work.
    using the routine method for each horizontal line:
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td></td> (etc.)
    </tr>
    </table>
