Alignment of images and text – Cubic Theme
-
I am having issues with how the images show up and their alignment. For example, if I align an image right or left, it looks good while editing but once I preview or publish, the alignments of the images are way further and it seems like there is a different area for the text and much larger area for the images. Need help fixing this.
Also, any way you can help me change the image that is shown on my homepage?

Hi there,
I checked your site and it appears you’re in the wrong forum. Although your site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, it is using the open source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would reach out to your site host for help.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
Thanks!

Hi there,
Cubic is actually made by us, so technically we can help you here, though we prefer you rather use the theme’s forum on WordPress.org for help with the self-hosted version: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/cubic/
the alignments of the images are way further and it seems like there is a different area for the text and much larger area for the images.
Are you speaking of the images that stick out past the edge of the text area, like in https://mymugoftea.com/granddaughterofukrainiansoul/? That is how the theme is designed to treat left- or right-aligned images. You can also see this on the demo site, here:
https://cubicdemo.wordpress.com/image-alignment-and-styles/
Looking at that post in the browser inspector, though, it appears all the images sticking out to the left, are right-aligned, and nothing I do to the CSS in the browser inspector seems to change that.
If you want the text to wrap around the images like on the demo page, add the image block, size the image the way you want, set the alignment, and then add a paragraph block directly below that, and the text in the paragraph block should wrap automatically.
This works for me on a test site, and then I’m able to override the images sticking out using CSS, so if that’s not working on your site it points to something other than the theme causing this.
Make sure you added those images in the editor with the correct settings, and then disable all plugins except Jetpack to see if that helps.
Also, any way you can help me change the image that is shown on my homepage?
Your front page currently shows the most recent posts. The image shown for each should be the featured image for each post, so you can change that by changing the featured image from within the editor.
