All blog posts have vanished (but not the pages)

When I look at the site, I see that the space for the blog posts is just white.

    https://howesound.wordpress.com/

If a post has comments, the comments are still there.

    The pages are there.

When I look at the back area of the site, the published drafts of all of the blog articles are still there.

I have looked at the site with Chrome, Brave, Safari and Firefox for the Mac and see the same result.

Curiously, when I look at the site with Safari on an iPhone, the site looks normal.

I have not posted for several months. I am wondering if something has changed with wordpress.com. I am using an old iMac with OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6. Could wordpress.com now have an issue with this OS?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi @howesound, there have been a few other reports by site owners using K2-Lite having this issue. This particular theme has been retired for a very long time and it’s quite possible that a recent update to the WordPress.com platform has broken the blog page. Retired themes are generally updated only for security issues.

Have you tried previewing your site in a different theme to see if the posts appear? If they do, you’ll want to consider changing to a newer theme. I’d suggest a Classic theme that has a sidebar which will give you close to what you have now. However, once you activate another theme, you won’t be able to return to K2-Lite.

Before doing that, another thing to check are Content Options in the Customizer to see if something is either stuck or became unstuck. Have a look there check and uncheck different options and see if your posts reappear.

Regardless, post back here and let us know how that goes.
