All blog posts under one tab
-
Hello!
I’ve recently started up a blog and I would like some help with formatting. I have tabs for ‘Home/About/Contact’ but ideally I would like to add one for ‘Blog Posts’ where all blog old posts would go leaving only have the most recent post on the ‘Home’ page.
Would this be possible? If so, how? I read a forum post about using categories but I can’t seem to figure it out.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I see you wish to list all your blog posts under Blog page. You can achieve it by following steps.
– Go to My Sites > Themes > Customise > Static Front Page
– Select A static page radio button
– Select Homepage from Front page dropdown
– Select Blog page from Posts page dropdown
– Click Save&PublishThis will list all your blog posts under Blog menu and you can have a static page for Home menu.
Follow this tutorial for better understanding
https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/There is no direct way to have recent posts on Homepage. However, you can add a Recent Posts widget on Homepage which will list the recent posts.

Hi Confidentlylost, @krutidugade offered some good suggestions but I wanted to add that the theme that you are using, Button 2, does not have a widgetized home page design so the layout that you want is not accomplished easily. I recommend that you change themes. Search the Free themes for “Magazine-style” themes which may help more. https://wordpress.com/themes/free/filter/magazine

Hi there,
There is no way to have only the one most recent post on your home page. The home page can either show all your posts, with the most recent at the top, or you can have all your posts on a separate page as @krutidugade explained, and use a static page for the home page instead.
What you can do is set how many posts must load on the front page initially. To do that, go to My Site ->Settings ->Writing and change the number for blog posts under Content Types to 1. Then when the page is first opened only one post will load, with more posts loading as you scroll down.
But there’s no way to “archive” older posts to remove them from the main posts page. That’s simply not how the WordPress software works. Changing themes will not help in this case.
